First day of building today!!!

This morning, a 6 am start began our first day of building. An hour and a half of very rough terrain to arrive at a poor village with 50 plus gorgeous children.
As we got off the bus the situation of the villagers and there living conditions became very apparent and most confronting.
Unlike Australian builders the locals wore thongs and were no were to be seen after lunch. Doing our best we managed to hammer a few nails and poorly cut wood. The small children were a positive distraction in which they played hop scotch with broken plates and skipped with joined elastic bands. The resourceful children were a highlight of our day and were also a sad reminder of the poverty problem of this country.

Tonight some enjoyed the markets while others enjoyed a massage. Still some improvements on the bartering to be done, particularly becca, purchasing two "hand made" bags for a whopping $40 (RIP OFFFF)
Very much an enjoyable night dinning at Rep Piano where Angelina Jolie is a part owner.
All very tied and looking forward to a good nights sleep to do it all the same tomorrow
Keep tuned into our blog for daily updates :)
